How to use the Zaky for full term, healthy babies, premature, or sick babies: The Zaky is intended to be placed over and tucked around the infant to provide the feeling of a hand providing containment. The infant can be placed on side, back, or prone using the product to provide support and a feeling of protection by a soothing touch.

Scenting the Zaky: The mother can place it on the chest for a night or behind the neck for a couple of hours; The mother can place a dryer sheet inside of the vinyl packaging of the Zaky with the Zaky for one or two hours so it smells like the scents at home.
Warming the Zaky: The Zaky may be placed in the dryer for a couple of minutes. It may be used directly in the skin of the baby if the baby can touch a blanket. The Zaky is breathable and does not make the baby perspire where is in contact with the skin. It may be used in incubator and heaters. By design and for safety, the filling will not get warm/hot under a heating source - only the fabric will get warm, similar to a regular fleece blanket.
